I arrived in Oxford for the dream life of painting and studying art but the timing was both fortunate and unfortunate. It was lockdown during the COVID pandemic. this meant going for long walks for exercise each day and my usual route was this picturesque path along the canal to town and back. Every day it changed as autumn turned to winter, so every day I took photographs of the changes to paint. It was like walking in a storybook every day. The autumn leaves and soft sunshine gave an impression of calmness and serenity though the world was in absolute turmoil outside my strolling path bubble.
