This isn't just any gorgeous old window somewhere in Europe, but the window of our sister's house in Goudargues, Provence. The painting opportunities abound in these ancient villages but the subjects mean so much more when there's a connection and for us, it was being able to stay a short while here. Goudargues is known as the Venice of France, with a stream through the middle and little bridges. This painting shows the most fun part of my technique, layering on paint until the appropriate colour and texture are achieved. I often feel the old walls sigh with satisfaction when I am done.
