Burano Colours

Oh Burano, the island of lace makers! A trip to Burano must be on the agenda of all artists visiting Venice. What a magnificent palette of colours these waterways reflect, in a story book fashion. Had I not seen this in person I would have wondered if it was real. The collection of coloured houses packed upon each other ordinarily could appear gaudy but instead they delight the senses as the hues bounce off each other and dance on the water like a festival. Every footpath and canal with little boats bobbing brought a smile to my face.
